Job Summary:
The Program Coordinator-Assistive Technology serves as a member of the Disability Resources and Services (DRS) team and reports to the Associate Director of Disability Resources & Services. Disabilities Resources and Services is responsible for arranging accessibility accommodations for students with disabilities and providing disability support and resources. as well as assessment, training, and short-term loan of assistive technology for students registered with Disability Resources and Services. This position facilitates the procurement or production of materials in accessible, alternate formats. The Program Coordinator functions as a resource to University faculty and staff on the inclusion of students with a disability, with a service emphasis on the utilization of assistive technology.

The mission is to educate our community on disability inclusion and accessibility and to empower students to become self-aware advocates. The Program Coordinator arranges reasonable accommodations and support services for students with disabilities, which involves conducting intake interviews, making recommendations regarding reasonable accommodations, determining accommodations appropriate to the specific disability are consistent with disability law and standards of practice in higher education, and providing follow-up to students. This position also serves as a resource for the university community on matters related to students with disabilities. Performs other duties as assigned.

This position is Monday through Friday - 40 hours/week.

Required Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree
* At least 3 years directly related experience in a field related to education, psychology, or social services, and experience working with disability services.
* An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred:
*Master's degree in a field related to education, psychology, or social services.


Required Skills and Abilities:
* Demonstrated experience partnering with community agencies to enable greater access to and participation in higher education by persons with a disability.
*Demonstrated mastery of relevant legislation - Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504, and related standards.
*Expertise in evaluating documentation of disability, determining eligibility for services and accommodations, and generating a plan for the provisions of services and accommodations.
*Strong written and verbal communication skills.
*Outstanding organizational skills.
*Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred:
*Experience determining and implementing accommodation, including clinical and fieldwork accommodations in pre-professional, professional, and graduate school post-secondary settings.


*Assistive Technology certification, or willingness to obtain certification within the first two years of employment.

This position requires FBI Fingerprint Background check and Child Abuse Clearances.
