Position Summary
The primary location of this position is the main Cullowhee, NC campus.

The Room Assignments Coordinator manages the residence hall room assignments processes for on-campus student housing. This includes activities such as planning, publicizing and managing the continuing student room selection process; facilitating new student room assignments in July and December each year; and coordinating room changes throughout the regular academic year.

The Room Assignment Coordinator collaborates with internal and external partners to manage these processes including residence life staff, facilities staff and liaisons in various campus offices.

Those serving in this position are responsible for coordinating a centralized move in process in August and January.

The Room Assignments Coordinator supervises the Assignments and Administrative Services Specialist who supports the room assignments process and completes tasks related to Residency Exemptions, Housing Cancellations, Housing Accommodations, Summer Assignments and Village Organizational Housing.

The Room Assignments Coordinator is also responsible for a variety of data and reports including managing compliance with WCU Policy 96, maintaining accurate housing rosters and occupancy records, and reviewing billing and adjustments to student accounts. In order to effectively complete their duties the Room Assignments Coordinator must be able to provide excellent customer service while interacting with a variety of constituents including students, parents, faculty and staff.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position
Working knowledge of university policies and procedures, requiring experience and the ability to deal with a broad set of demands and/or situations effectively and sensitively; the ability to record, compile, summarize and analyze data; considerable ability to exercise judgment and discretion in problem situations; the ability to independently respond to inquiries and coordinate resources in acquiring and disseminating information; considerable knowledge to communicate effectively in speech and in writing; excellent customer service skills. Critical to the responsibilities of this position is knowledge of appropriate computer software programs (i.e. banner, excel, access, RMS)
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
