IT Application Support Lead

What you'll do:

This IT Application Support Lead position will be part of the IT Application Support and development team and will work closely with business partners, vendors, implementation team, BSA and Developers to deliver effective business systems and solutions for banking and corporate applications. Following the defined process, you will support corporate systems, implementation and upgrade, automations, perform issue troubleshooting and drive resolution working with other IT teams internally.

What we are looking for:

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs system admin tasks - Application setup and maintenance
  • Support applications and their dependencies. Responsibilities include installation, configuration, administration, designing, building, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining simple to complex applications
  • Involve in issue identification and remediation including root cause analysis using various tools and software
  • Participate in the Change Management process for the applications as per enterprise guidelines.
  • Able to articulate and work with different stakeholders
  • Build knowledge and share it with team as needed
  • Review current documentation for the applications and update as appropriate while maintaining repository using SharePoint, Confluence
  • Collaborate closely with the wider technology teams to coordinate interdependencies and resolve issues and understand overlaps of teams and applications
  • Participate in improvement plans including alert and monitoring of various applications and related infrastructure
  • Participate in the creation of new products and prototypes from scratch
  • Build monitoring capabilities by defining key KPIs for applications or production critical processes to improve performance and efficiency
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Develops a deep knowledge of the client relationship and in-depth product expertise; acts as a subject matter expert (SME)
  • Develop a disciplined approach in vetting, implementing and monitoring any change activity as well as monitoring and communicating issues/incidents in the daily course of business
  • Develop deep understanding of how our technology is tied together (networks, systems, vendors) and the role/responsibilities that each team plays in assuring our business can function at a high level of consistency and reliability
  • Works to develop a strong understanding and relationship between business partners
  • Ensure efficiency and availability of applications while scaling, implementing and enhancing alerting and monitoring capabilities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of experience in IT, software development, and/or professional services
  • 5+ years' experience working with RDBMS databases and Windows platforms
  • Hands on with scripting techniques and its usages including languages like PowerShell, Shell, Python, Perl
  • Good experience in using API frameworks (RESTful)
  • Experience with Control-M tool for scheduling and monitoring capabilities
  • Understanding of applications running on .Net/Java or other standard Object-Oriented languages
  • Understanding of ITIL processes
  • MS Azure or other cloud experience preferred
  • Familiar with networking concepts including sFTP, FTP, SMTP, HTTP/S
  • Familiar with Active Directory, Security Groups and Service Accounts
  • Experience with any Enterprise ticketing system (such as ServiceNow)
  • Has good written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have Skills

  • Software development and/or implementation experience preferred
  • Familiar with tools like AppDynamics, Splunk, Control-M or any other enterprise monitoring or scheduling tool
