Using your keen accounting knowledge, you will ensure compliance with non-payroll related federal, state, and local tax laws through participation in tax preparation and filing processes, including 990s. Position: External Reporting Analyst
Shift: Day

Experience:
1. Zero to three years' experience, preferably in a healthcare setting with a concentration in financial reporting and tax preparation preferred
2. Knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials preferred
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint software necessary

Essential Accountabilities:

1. Participate in the IRS Form 990 and 990-T preparation and filing process for all MLH members, ensuring compliance with federal reporting laws

A. Assist in coordination and compilation of data from various departments throughout MLH to ensure consistent reporting

    1. Completion of IRS Form 990 & IRS Form 990-T for several MLH entities
    2. Work with outside tax advisors, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, on IRS Form 990 & Form 990-T review, approval and completion process
    3. Participate in preparation of final 990s for board level review and signature by Chief Financial Officer

2. Assist in coordination of all other non-payroll related tax filings at the federal local and state levels

A. Contribute to local business tax filings for applicable MLH entities

    1. Maintain annual local business license filings for various operational locations

3. Assist in the completion of the annual financial statement audit

A. Participate in assembly of audit evidential matter and variance explanations at a system-wide level to comply with external audit documentation requirements

4. Participate in the collection, organization, and reporting of unclaimed property for the annual Pennsylvania Treasury Unclaimed Property filing.

A. Assist in the annual collection, tracking, and coordination of escheat letter responses

  1. Assist in monthly reporting of system-wide statistics to MLH general ledger

6. Complete system surveys and periodic data submissions as required

    1. Complete system-wide surveys on both an individual entity and/or consolidated level for timely submissions as required

B. Completion of annual PHC4 data submission for hospital entities

    1. Compile data for monthly, quarterly, and annual data submissions to reporting agencies (Census Bureau, DVHC, SIMS, DOH, AHA, COTH etc.) for individual system members

7. Support financial analysis of member specific and system-wide projects as necessary



Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required
