Position Summary

Pep Boys is seeking a results-driven Vice President - Sales & Operations Planning to lead our sales and operational strategies, ensuring alignment between sales forecasts and operational capabilities. Reporting to the SVP - Supply Chain, the Vice President - Sales & Operations Planning will play a critical role in driving profitability, enhancing customer satisfaction, and optimizing operational efficiency.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage, direct and continually develop/improve the sales & operations planning process.
  • Develop and drive the strategy and vision of the S&OP process to keep pace with business priorities, including internal and external benchmarking, continuous process improvements, and system integration.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration between sales, marketing, finance, supply chain and operations teams to develop integrated sales and operations plans.
  • Drive the demand planning process by analyzing market trends, customer demand, and historical sales data to develop accurate sales forecasts.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and the Supply Chain team to ensure alignment between production capacity and sales forecasts.
  • Optimize inventory levels by balancing demand fluctuations, production lead times, and inventory carrying costs.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales, inventory, and operations to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement sales and operations planning tools, processes, and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide assessments and recommendations on financial risks related to demand/sales/inventory forecast.
  • Work with sourcing team to understand supply constraints and plan solutions to address inconsistencies between demand-based forecast and sales goals.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to help shape and deliver the Company's strategic objectives through S&OP by determining the correct mix/balance between supply and demand.
  • Actively participate in cross-functional meetings to share insights, contribute to discussions, and align reporting efforts with strategic goals.
  • Develop and prepare materials for Senior Leadership Team and Board of Directors meetings.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the S&OP team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Other duties as required to support the Supply Chain strategy.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics or equivalent training required; MBA or master's degree in relevant discipline preferred.
  • Proven experience (preferably 10+ years) in supply chain or related fields to include previous or current direct management of S&OP processes.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve high levels of performance.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful S&OP strategies that drive business results.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Domo, Power BI, Tableau) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, organizational and project management skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear and actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills.
  • Strong communication skills - both verbally and in writing independently.
  • Ability to drive change in a status quo environment.
  • Customer service oriented, recognizing the importance of high-quality customer service.
