Customer Finance Analyst, Full Time, Easton PA

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Acts as Customer Finance representative for a broad range of customers including top tier domestic and international accounts.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support a customer portfolio reflecting:
    • Research and resolution of assigned portfolio of deductions in SAP. Includes both domestic and international customers.
    • Analyze and manage trade fund trackers, vendor agreements and annual trade programs with varying complexity. Work closely with sales, customers and buyers on post audit claims. Interact with customer A/P departments.
    • Strong communication and negotiating skills used to document and collect on invalid deductions.
    • Work with all levels of sales assisting with the management of markdowns, returns and trade lines on the P&L.
  • Work with Sales Representatives on analysis and explanation of customer profitability statements. Identify profitability trends and call out risks and opportunities to Sales counterparts. Evaluate sales/margin and customer relationship impact of customer specials, work with management and sales to strike an appropriate balance.
  • Identify key areas in POG resets to maximize margins with new product placement and balance sales potential versus margin rate of product discontinuations.
  • Own trade fund trackers to ensure they reasonably forecast variable trade rates to applicable sales forecasts. Ensure fixed customer investments are delivering adequate returns. Measure customer performance against parameters of vendor agreements and annual investments.
  • Evaluate the validity of customer A/R deductions using ORBIT reporting and analysis, interpretation of customer backup, discussions with Sales Representatives, and knowledge of common Crayola business practices. Prepare documentation sufficient to explain rationale for disputing invalid deductions. Employ good judgment in countering customer argument/claims for funds.
  • Handle resolution of valid deductions in a timely manner via credit memo or approved write-off. Authorize product returns/markdown requests in compliance with policy and in a manner that is most profitable to Crayola taking into account inventory status and customer history.
  • Work cross-functionally with key internal and external partners (Buyers, Accounts Payable, Brokers, EDI, Sales, etc...) to create process improvements leading to a reduction of claims.
  • Assist with customer presentations as requested.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business OR minimum of 5 years experience in a finance or accounting role in a Consumer Packaged Goods company
  • Must possess excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have knowledge of computer software applications in word processing and spreadsheets (MS Word, Excel).
  • Knowledge of SAP accounts receivable and dispute management modules preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting practices and procedures.
