We currently are looking to add a full-time Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator to our team at our Northeast Philadelphia, PA facility. Job Purpose:

Under the direction of the Corporate Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager, the EHS Coordinator assists with the development and implementation of policies, conducts inspections and audits, leads EHS related projects, and helps to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations, conformance standards, and Company policies. The EHS Coordinator performs work under general supervision, handles complex issues or problems and builds and maintains collaborative relationships with internal and external team members.

As the Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator, the team member will:

  • Facilitates safety committee with union and office involvement.
  • Develops and delivers training programs on environmental and safety policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Identifies, evaluates, environmental health and safety risks.
  • Creates and maintains processes to evaluate environmental health and safety performance.
  • Maintains Kingsbury's Environmental Health and Safety management systems.
  • Ensures that site training records, health/safety manuals or handbooks, incident/accident reports, or other documentation are appropriately maintained, updated, and in compliance regulations and policies.
  • Selects and maintains stock of personal protection equipment or other related supplies.
  • Assists in maintaining environmental permits.
  • Conducts inspections including but not limited to hazardous waste, spill control, and emergency response equipment inspections.
  • Coordinates the inspection of facilities, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Maintains appropriate certifications including, but not limited to: First Aid, OSHA 30 Hour, 40-hour HAZWOPER, RCRA, and DOT.
  • Maintains facility emergency response plans
  • Support the company in Worker's Compensation strategies and matters.
  • Works cross-functionally with other departments to train, develop program and processes, and create and execute corrective actions.
  • Remain current on federal, state, county and local safety regulations and keep management advised of new or revised regulations.
  • Collaborates with team members to develop short and long-term corrective actions in a timely manner
  • Completes special projects and other duties as assigned.

Abilities and Other Skills:

Language: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to read and write English.

Mathematical: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Lifting: This position requires lifting up to 25 pounds under 1/3 of the time.

Vision: The vision requirements for this position are color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors) and depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships).

Required Education and Experience:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, Associate Degree in EHS, Sustainability, or equivalent.

Experience: 3-6 years' EHS-related experience.

Preferred Experience: Bachelor's Degree in EHS, Understanding of OSHA General Industry requirements and hazardous waste management.
