PRIMARY FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Practice Manager in conjunction with the finance team this position provides advanced secretarial, administrative, financial and clinical management support as the Administrative Coordinator. This position is responsible for the including but not limited to insurance verification, acquiring all authorizations, referrals and appointment scheduling. Provides customer service to patients and payors related to in Meadowbrook Infusions services

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Verifies insurance, initiates prior authorizations and reauthorizes insurance.
  • Act as the primary source for patient communication regarding insurance authorizations and referrals.
  • Work all denials and appeals with the financial team in a timely manner under the guidance of the departmental billing department.
  • Updates all providers on insurance documentation requirements and updated policies to ensure patient approvals.
  • Understanding of hospital and physician claims and payments to identify patient responsibility.
  • Submitting claims to Patient Assistance Programs after insurance payments.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare insurance, particularly Medicare and Medicaid.
  • Working knowledge of Infusion medications Patient Assistance Programs.
  • Stays abreast of changes in major insurance plans and Patient Assistance Programs.
  • Enrollment of different Patient Assistance Programs.
  • Perform advanced administrative tasks including triage calls, coordination and scheduling. Respond to complex inquiries and assist stakeholders.
  • Educate patients as to their payor guidelines/requirements and assist them to obtain proper authorization
  • Performs all services in a professional, timely manner to assure accurate and timely service with respect to infusion services
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the iSCORE values of Jefferson.
EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or GED required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

middot; Previous experience required in one or more of the following roles: Patient Access Representative, Financial Counselor, Customer Service Representative, Patient Accounts Billing Representative, Patient Accounts Collections Representative.

middot; Knowledge of hospital and physician billing and collections.

middot; Knowledge of State and Federal financial assistance programs.

middot; Knowledge of medical terminology; negotiating skills; and detail orientation.

middot; Clear, effective communication skills; mature approach to problem solving for all types of issues;

middot; Skills in using PC computers and computer applications

Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jeffersonrsquo;s clinical entities or at the University.
