About the role

Under the direction of the Director of Supply Chain Services & Operations, provide financial support to the Procurement organization. The Procurement function oversees the purchase of both direct and indirect materials for the production of 2.7 billion tons of Trinseo products at 23 manufacturing sites across 12 countries.

As the senior financial analyst for this function, participate as a decision maker with the functional leaders, segment global leadership teams and business management teams on the development of the operational and financial strategy of the functions. Act as a catalyst instilling a financial approach and mindset throughout the organization, translating operational metrics into measures of performance, identifying gaps, taking action and accountability in executing on short-term and long-term objectives, and the quality and timeliness of functional results; communicating value and risk issues up through senior leadership.

Be the financial steward of the function, preserving the assets of the organization by managing risks and ensuring accurate reporting of segment/functional results, taking ownership of the functional reporting; driving for global profitability through cost, working capital, and cash flow optimization. Support the monthly forecast, annual plan and five year strategy processes with financial projections, reporting and communicating the financial impacts of business/functional operations, various strategic initiatives, and changes in the market/competitive environment. Assist the financial close process analyzing results, communicating deviations, assisting with audit requests, and working with the Controllers organization to ensure segment financial results are free from material misstatements. Ensure the ongoing development, monitoring, and adherence to the Company's control systems as they relate to functional operations (capital spending and expense control) and financial reporting (internal controls and SOX).

Assume a leadership role in various cross-functional initiatives including, but not limited to, working capital management with a focus on optimizing accounts payable, customer/product/plant profitability analysis and improvement, fixed costs spending, constantly evaluating levers to improve business performance across all these areas.

Develop close working relationship with Finance Leaders and develop a deep understanding of finance processes including Treasury, Accounting, and Internal Controls.

Responsibilities

Controlling and monitoring of fixed costs of Procurement team and Raw material pricing, spend and EBITDA impacts. Monitor global purchase quantities against contract minimums & maximums.

Prepare Monthly forecast updates and communication related to fixed costs, global raw material pricing, ADT/ADP and working capital.

Monthly closing / results analysis and communication. Assist in the preparation of communications for multiple audiences, including ELT members

Prepare Annual Budget and coordinate Five Year Planning process for Procurement Fixed Costs and Raw Material Spend

Lead Reporting Enhancements & Automation around Global Raw Material price trends and participate in continuous improvement projects.

Support environment of Compliance, Control & SOX - Prepare support for Long Term Purchase Agreements disclosure in Trinseo Financial Statements

Analyze strategic initiatives and present recommendations for review and approval

Qualifications

Minimum Education Required:

Bachelor's in Business Management / Finance / Accounting (Masters/MBA/CPA/CFA preferred)

Minimum Experience

(years and type):

5 to 8 years of experience in financial analysis and/or cost accounting

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Financial accounting, manufacturing cost accounting, international management, economic evaluation, strong analytical ability
