What We'll Bring:

Reporting to the VP, Investor Relations and Treasurer, we are now seeking an experienced Director of Investor Relations. Together they will partner with and support Essential's senior executives while literally and figuratively having a "seat at the table", leading our investor relations efforts and helping drive the success of the company. As the Director, they will play a significant role developing and maintaining strong relationships with our investors, shareholders, and the financial community crafting all investor-focused communication, including analyst presentations and earnings materials.

The role will span managing critical processes through to conducting internal and external analysis and developing exceptional messaging about our business. The role of Director Investor Relations will provide the individual with valuable experience and exposure to potentially transition into other areas of Essential Utilities. Previous Directors have progressed into major roles in communications, finance/regulatory and general management.

What You'll Bring:

  • You will bring 5+ years of demonstrable experience in managing investor relations programs, including investor communications, investor meetings, and analyst days gained in corporate finance, or as a buy- or sell-side analyst underpinned by an attention to detail and focus on process.

  • You will bring excellent written and verbal communication skills, generating ideas that effectively positions Essential Utilities with the Street and the ability to effectively present complex financial information to a diverse set of stakeholders.

  • You will bring strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to synthesize complex financial data into concise and meaningful insights that will help solve problems and drive positive change.

  • You will directly support senior executives in preparation for investor meetings and earnings calls.

  • You will bring exceptional relationship-building skills and the ability to interact confidently and professionally with investors, analysts, and senior executives to communicate the Essential Utilities story. This will require and include travel globally including to various investor conferences (20-30%).

  • You will bring strong financial acumen, analytical rigor, a deep understanding of financial markets, including knowledge of investment analysis, valuation, and financial reporting. You will bring analytic rigor, great attention to detail and focus on process.

  • You will bring outstanding verbal communications skills together with an integrity and ethical behavior to the role at all times.

Impact You'll Make:

  • You will collaborate with senior executives to develop and implement an effective investor relations strategy to actively enhance the company's reputation and credibility among investors, analysts, and the financial community.

  • Collaborate with the executive team to further develop our energetic financial messaging and ensure consistent and accurate communication of the Essential Utilities' financial results and growth strategy to the investment community.

  • Foster strong relationships with existing and potential investors and analysts by providing them with accurate, timely, and relevant communications about the company's public investment thesis, performance, financials, and strategic initiatives.

  • Monitor and analyze industry and market trends, as well as competitor activities, to provide insightful recommendations and guidance to senior leadership on investor sentiment, market positioning and expectations.

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, marketing, communications, business, or related field required.
