While functioning in the expanded role as a professional nurse, the nurse practitioner performs acts of medical diagnosis or prescription of medical therapeutic or corrective measures in collaboration with attending physicians and residents. As an advanced practice nurse, the NP role involves independent judgment and decision-making as well as consultation and collaboration with other members of the health care team. The NP shall enhance the continuity of quality patient care; amplify communication between the physician, family members, and the health care team; and extend the capabilities of the medical care team.

Position: Nurse Practitioner
Shift: Part time - 12 hours a week - weekends and holiday coverage

Experience:
2 years Nurse Practitioner experience preferred in inpatient psychiatric setting.
Minimum of 2 years Nursing experience in inpatient psychiatric setting preferred.

Education:
Completion of a Nurse Practitioner program required.
MSN Required.

Licensures/Certifications:
Licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing Examiners as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner.
Provider BLS (American Heart Assoc/American Red Cross) required.
Require ACLS certification.
May require PALS (pediatric advanced life support).
Successful completion of the MLH credentialing process through the Medical Staff office, with temporary or permanent privileges approved.
