Job Summary

General Purpose:

The Office of Marketing and Communications offers the opportunity for a student assistant interested in engaging in social media branding and marketing, photography, and videography. The office is seeking a student with strong communications skills, dedicated, and responsible. Student must be an undergraduate student and in good academic standing.

Responsibilities:

* Support the Marketing and Communications Assistant Director for Marketing and Communications

* Contribute to content strategies for engaging students via social media

* Create relevant and engaging content for social media based on assignments for the following channels: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube

* Per assignment the student will attend and cover university events for social media, photography and/or video.

* Meet requested submission deadlines

The University Internship Program Initiative is part of the Laker Bridge to Completion Program, funded by a Predominantly Black Institution Formula Grant through the U.S. Department of Education.

Required Qualifications

Key Competencies:
* Strong communication and written skills
* Knowledge of University Social Media Platforms
* Confidentiality
* Ability to work with a team
* Preferred students for this job are obtaining degrees in Communication and Media Studies, English, Marketing, or Film
* Photography and/or Videography Skills (beginner, intermediate or experienced)
