Job Overview:

Sr. Consulting Managers lead teams in the performance of all necessary research and analysis tasks and provide the necessary scientific or strategic insight and interpretation as required for the project. Sr. Consulting Managers manage and coordinate project teams to synthesize multiple components and prepare client ready deliverables for contracted projects of all sizes and scopes. Sr. Consulting Managers work independently with the project teams and interact with the client with minimal senior-level supervision. Sr. Consulting Managers may have a handful of direct reports and must provide mentorship and managerial oversight.


Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Independently implement wide range of data analyses by using R or SAS. Data analyses may include regression analyses, survival analyses, parametric and non-parametric testing, data visualization, simulations as well as advanced statistical methods such as propensity score matching, longitudinal data analyses, etc.
  • Lead the drafting of statistical analysis plans and statistical reports.
  • Deliver presentations, in their entirety, to external clients
  • Coherently present findings to the client and answer client questions.
  • Support development of good statistical practices (e.g. macros development)
  • Search for the state-of-the-art techniques commensurate to the project objectives.
  • Work hand in hand with a team of statisticians, epidemiologists, data managers, project managers and other scientists for project delivery.
  • Participate in the development of advanced statistical tools in response to business needs, and support publication development and scientific communications
  • Participate/lead technical discussions- both internally and with the clients.
  • Ensure team's adherence to project SOPs, policies, and procedures.
  • Independently manage projects from start to finish, with minimal support from Sr. Management throughout
  • Successfully oversee timelines, deliverables, and budgets
  • Prepare proposal(s) based on RFP and/or client discussion, with supervision
  • Participate as technical SME in client pitches and final deliverable presentations to highlight advanced technical components
  • Train staff and provide direct supervision and acts as advisor to meet schedules, budgets, performance requirements and and/or resolve technical and/or client problems
  • Manage the coordination of the activities of a section or department with responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffing
  • Acts as advisor to direct reports, informing of company process and standards, as well as project requirements remaining actively involved to meet schedules, resolve problems, and support individual development
  • Provide review of work for direct reports to meet individual, team, and company metrics/objectives
  • Provide direction to employees according to established policies and procedures
  • Interact with cross-functional peers, to participate in or lead a cooperative effort or to share knowledge
  • Recommend changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization/team(s)
  • Understands the range of Company service offerings and project types, to lead projects and/or support new business sales


Qualifications

Education, Experience, Training, and Knowledge:

  • A masters' degree in statistics, mathematics, biostatistics, health economics, health outcomes, or health services research with 6+ years of statistical experience in health sciences is required.
  • A PhD degree in statistics, mathematics, biostatistics, health economics, health outcomes, or health services research with 4-5 years of statistical experience is preferred.
  • Experience in working with epidemiological, administrative healthcare, or EMR databases in the US, UK, or EU is preferred.
  • Experience in researching and implementing advanced statistical analyses (multivariate regression models, propensity score matching, survival analysis) is required.
  • Knowledge of Bayesian statistics, NMAs, machine learning, health economic modelling are a plus.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Has advanced analytical and written/oral communication skills
  • Professional proficiency in English, written and spoken
  • Proficient in using SAS software, additional knowledge of R as well as other software is preferable
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of the team
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Is a proficient and collaborative project coordinator who provides technical advice and solutions to meet client requirements
  • Proactively enables process and change improvements
  • Is capable of coaching and training others on skills and concepts
  • Provides input into designing new processes, strategies, and governance
  • Can problem solve independently and successfully escalates complex problems to Sr. Management
  • Pushes self and team for top results and proactively enables process and change improvements
  • Has high awareness and understands impact of actions as it relates to project operations
  • Has advanced understanding of business trends and demonstrates consistent business maturity and professionalism
