Commercial Safety Intern ** This advertised Commercial Safety Intern role is intended to begin employment in May 2022 during HITT's 10-week Summer Internship in Falls Church, VA. A Construction Safety Intern (CSI) participates in a hands-on internship experience within the HITT Futures Program. CSIs are placed with Futures program mentors for the duration of their seasonal work at HITT, participating in day-to-day operations of the project management team. This training and employment period will be used as an opportunity for the candidate to familiarize themselves with the different facets of construction while learning the way HITT conducts business relative to our industry. Further, this period should also be used by the candidate to become familiar with HITT's history and corporate culture. It is the intent that at the end of the Intern period that each successful candidate would be offered an opportunity to continue in our HITT Futures Program. Responsibilities Support the HITT Safety Team in implementing HITT's Corporate Safety & Health Program, performing audits and inspections, and collaborating Site Operations in creating a safe and productive workplace. Complete assignments specifically geared towards improving the HITT Corporate Safety & Health Program. Qualifications Current student pursuing an associate, undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited university within the safety, construction, engineering, or business concentrations strongly preferred Previous industry internship/work experiences a plus Ability to work approximately 40 hours per week for the duration of the 10-week construction internship program (no overtime available) Ability to successfully manage multiple, competing priorities in a deadline driven environment Ability to learn sector/project-specific software systems including but not limited to: Microsoft Office suite (ex.
